1st US-Danish Biomedical Innovation & Health Meeting

September 8 – 10, 2008. Boston, Cambridge and Washington

 

The Royal Danish Embassy has taken the initiative to create the first of a series of US-Danish Biomedical Innovation and Health Meetings. The meetings will focus on strengthening the relationship and collaboration between biomedical regions of excellence in the United States and Denmark.

The 1st US-Danish Biomedical Innovation and Health Meeting, spans three consecutive days from September 8th-10th in Boston, MA and Washington DC. It is the first cross-regional initiative to focus on success models in biomedical innovation and healthcare delivery, and will include academia, research institutions, industry and public health officials from Boston, Massachusetts, Washington D.C. and Denmark.

The objective of the Meeting:

1. To establish a cross-regional initiative to enhance biomedical innovation between the super clusters in Massachusetts and Denmark/Medicon Valley.

2. Involve all levels of interest; academia, industry, business and public health policy, to explore the nature of biomedical innovation and how to foster an infrastructure that enhances long-term economic growth.

3. Enhancing a science-based economy and skilled workforce.

4. Strengthen the relation between Washington D.C. and Denmark on issues related to regulation and health policies to make healthcare better, safer and more accessible to consumers.
